Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state. It is a way to access yourself at different levels in order to experience a feeling of being centered and conscious. You dont have to be a part of any particular religion to pracitice meditation. It is a way to clear and relax the mind, focus on our inner world; a way to unplug from the outside world. There are different forms of meditation. Anything that brings me to this state is a form of meditation to me whether it be reading, cooking or sitting in silence as I enjoy some sun.
